The 16th Annual San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition kicks off this week with judging at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair! There are 65 experienced judges from around the nation and world (as far as South Africa!) who are tasting, discussing and determining the winners. This year, the number of wines entered shattered all previous records, with an astounding 7,162 wines entered into the competition.
Held over four days, the judging begins January 5 and concludes January 8 in Sonoma County, CA. Results of the 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition will be available on Friday afternoon (1/8/16) after the sweepstakes judging in the morning.
A select group of winners are chosen to participate in the annual Public Tasting, which will take place on February 13th at San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center. Buy tickets now to taste these award-winning wines at the largest competition of American wines in the world!
