Cheryl’s relationship with wine begins with her Greek heritage and growing up at a time and a place where wine was part of a daily meal and fellowship. After spending time in the Sierra foothills and obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree at UC Davis she moved to Sonoma County. Her exposure to the multitude of wineries in the Napa and Sonoma region while working in the hospitality and catering industry for John Ash & Co and Feast Catering , prompted her to attend the Santa Rosa Junior College wine studies program. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Wine Studies and certifications in Wine Evaluation & Service and Business & Marketing. At the encouragement of her mentors, she eagerly volunteered for the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in 2017 as an intern and has continued to return every year as a volunteer to assist in any of the aspects of the event as needed. Hands on experience from harvest to hospitality and sales experience was gained at Shone Farm and St. Francis Winery where she led wine and food pairings, wine club and special events before moving on to be the Tasting Room Supervisor for Landmark Vineyards Winery at their 1905 historic Hop Kiln Estate’s property in Healdsburg California. She is currently pursuing her CSW, WSET and Sommelier certifications.
