E&J Gallo Winery, Senior Manager Wine and Spirits Education
Kristin Short has over 27 years of experience in the Beverage Industry and currently runs Wine and Spirits training for Gallo employees. She began her career in the beer industry with Anheuser Busch for 10 years. It was during that time that her love for wine steered her direction to begin her wine education and later obtained certifications as an Advanced Sommelier, Certified Wine Educator, and Wine Judge. Kristin then began a career working in the Fine Dining world in Denver, Colorado where she ran a restaurant and then sold wine to top chefs and Sommeliers. Her passion and want for additional education took her to viticulture and enology where she worked three vintages in Sonoma, New Zealand and Napa.
Kristin returned to high level wine sales, distribution and wholesale management in Denver with Breakthru Beverage and three years later started with E&J Gallo Winery. Over the past 11 years she oversaw Domestic and International wine sales in restaurants and top-level fine wine accounts in Colorado and Texas, in addition to beginning her education in Spirits. She then acquired her Certified Spirits Specialist and is an Executive Bourbon Steward.
As an industry professional, Kristin is passionate about education and learning. She is also extremely passionate about Traveling and has been fortunate enough throughout her career to visit all fifty US States, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, France, Italy, and Belgium.
Kristin has been judging competitions for over 15 years, in Colorado and Texas, including 10 years with the Houston Rodeo International Wine Competition. Kristin was honored to be a part of the San Francisco Chronical Wine Competition this year.
