Born and raised in the Bay Area, Tedi Schmidt enjoyed early exposure to wine through her father´s love of the land and admiration for wine. It wasn’t long before the family put in a vineyard of their own. Later, she went on to study Wine and Viticulture, concentrating in Enology at San Luis Obispo. She took her studies internationally to Australia and has worked harvests in both California and Oregon. Currently, she is working for her family business at Moose Mountain Vineyards as a general manager and assistant winemaker. In these roles, she oversees the flow of work and manages the day-to-day production. She is currently beginning her journey to achieving her WSET certification. Her passion for whole-food plant-based healthy eating and efforts to lower her carbon footprint embodies her mantra to live her best life. She carries this into the winery where she follows the “less is more” dictum with the production of natural wines and avoiding additives at all stages in the winemaking process. Tedi´s curiosity about the wine industry is just getting started, she is excited to continue learning and expanding the market for sustainable wines.
