Jim was recently associated with Treasury Wine Estates in Napa as the Director of Marketing Communications. Bob Fraser reports, “Jim has been one of our founding San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition professional judges starting with his early years at Fetzer Winery in Mendocino County. Jim was directly responsible by hosting three of our SFCWC Official Judges Dinner’s in 2005 at Kendall Jackson Wine Estates, in 2007 with Brown-Forman Wines at Sonoma-Cutrer, and in 2012 at The Hess Collection Wines in Napa. He was one of the most popular of wine judges among his colleagues and had a tremendous palate for wines. Jim was tremendously loved for his gregarious personality and personal warmth as a fine human being. As a professional competition organizer, Jim was one of those “go to” guys anytime you needed something to help facilitate and promote your competition. I will sorely miss but will remember Jim fondly forever…”
