On February 13th, the 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFCWC) held its annual Public Tasting at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion. This year’s event was a packed house, with over 5,000 people enjoying the delicious food, friendly people and great wines! Many families and groups of friends make an annual tradition of attending the tasting because it always proves to be a fantastic experience for all.
Sponsored by Bevmo!, the event featured thousands of award-winning wines and delicious gourmet food provided by Whole Foods Market, the San Francisco Catering company and local artisans from SavorCalifornia.com. More than 800 wineries participated, and joining them was sponsor Stella Artois with wonderful selections of beer. Local culinary enthusiasts enjoyed meeting renowned chef Tyler Florence, and KGO Radio talents also made an appearance at the tasting, including Jennifer Jones-Lee, Jon Bristow, Bret Burkhart, Nikki Medoro, Chip Franklin, Heather Hamaan and Scott Letteri.
Bob Fraser, SFCWC Executive Director stated, “Folks from all over flocked to the pavilion by the bay to enjoy wine, food, and companionship. It seemed that everyone agreed that this tasting was a truly special event. I really appreciate the support of the wine and food industry in sharing their wonderful products and the hard work of everyone who was involved in making this day so successful.”
So make sure you save the date for next year’s San Francisco Chronicle’s Public Tasting in February 2017. See you then!
