The Winners or the 2011 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Are…
On January 7th, 2011, the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition concluded the annual week of judging at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds in Sonoma County, California. Over five days, 60 professional wine experts tasted and evaluated a world-record breaking 5,050 entries from 23 states.
Wines were awarded as Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Double Gold (unanimous gold by the judges). In addition, there were Best of Class & Judges' Choice Awards given for each of the wine judging categories, and the prestigious Sweepstake Awards for the top Sparkling, White, Blush, Red (two tied from Paso Robles), and Dessert/Specialty wines. This year for the first time there was an award for the most creative label.
