Heather Heraty was born in San Diego, CA. Her family decided to move to Sonoma County when she was 7. This is where her mom started a career in the wine industry after finishing college. Heather spent her summers hanging around local wineries while her mother was working. Playing and venturing around different wineries, as way to pass time. The scent of the barrel room, the smells of aging wines, and attending “crush” parties are some of her favorite memories. Watching Sonoma County change from farm country and grow into wine country, she realized it was time to start a career in the wine industry.

Heather started her wine industry career in 2008. She spent the first 6 years of her wine industry career learning the art, craft, and science of winemaking under her mother, at Taft Street Winery. A few years into working as lab director and assistant winemaker, Heather decided to go back to school to earn her Associate of Science degree with a double major in Wine Business & Marketing and Wine Service & Evaluation. She has jumped for every opportunity to advance in the industry. Including, completing a 99-hour internship for the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in 2012. Also, in 2012 she became a Certified Tourism Ambassador for Sonoma County. She has also passed her Introductory Level Sommelier exam through The Court of Master Sommeliers. Currently, Heather is the tasting room manager at Passaggio Wines in Sonoma CA.
