Brian
Baker serves as the Vice President Consumer
Relationship Marketing for Jackson Wine Estates,
where he oversees the direct sales efforts among 44
premium and luxury wine brands in the JWE portfolio.
Previously, Baker headed up MPower, a division of
Mering and Associates advertising in
Sacramento-where he oversaw the development of
cooperative and partnership marketing.
Prior to that, Baker was the VP marketing at the
San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, where
he pioneered the “foodie” tourism marketing trend,
including the creation of annual “Dine About Town”
dining program. He developed innovative advertising
partnerships with high-end packaged goods and
financial services, and created the “I Left My Heart
in San Francisco” line of licensed products.
Baker has also served as the Executive Director
of Marketing for Dollar Rent a Car and ran his own
newspaper publishing company in southern California.
Baker earned his BA at USC, with an emphasis in
Journalism and Speech Communications.
He is an accomplished speaker and facilitator,
covering current marketing trends including the wine
industry, e-marketing, Culinary Tourism, The
American Foodie, Relationship and core value
marketing.
He serves on the advisory board of the Santa Rosa
Visitors and Convention Bureau, and the Sonoma
County Tourism Bureau, as well as the boards of the
Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce and Association of
Travel Marketing Executives. He is also member of
the California Travel and Tourism Commission
marketing committee.
Baker judges at various wine and spirits
competitions and is also a member the Guild of
Sommeliers. |
