Barbara Ensrud writes about wine for several national
publications, and was a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal
from 1984 to 2005. For 12 years, she was the syndicated weekly wine colunnist
for the New York Daily News. Her wine articles have appeared in GQ,
Vogue, Parade, Smart Money, Harper's Bazaar, The
Wine Spectator, Decanter, Food & Wine, House & Garden,
House Beautiful, Glamour, The Journal of Gastronomy and
numerous other publications. Currently she writes the monthly wine column--Cork
Report-- in Metro Magazine. In August 2006 she become a Regional
Correspondent for Appellation America covering
North Carolina wines and growing regions.
Since the fall of 2000 she has taught wine courses at
Duke University. During her years in New York, she taught at L'Academie du Vin,
The New School at CCNY and was a regular guest lecturer Windows on the World.
She has conducted panel tastings at the Aspen Wine & Food event, and judged in
numerous wine competitions in the U.S. and Europe.
Barbara Ensrud is a frequent speaker on the subject of
wine, and has appeared on radio, as well as network TV. She is available for
corporate wine tastings and private gatherings. She also consults for
restaurants in creating or upgrading wine lists, and with individuals interested
